SEIU Marxists Try to Scam GOP Over Immigration – ‘Amnesty’ Activists Getting Desperate

New Zeal

The Marxist led union at the heart of the illegal immigrant amnesty campaign SEIU, is trying to scam Republican Congressmen into voting their way.

The Democratic Socialists of America controlled SEIU is targeting GOP Reps, promising all sorts of completely bogus benefits and scaring them with the potential loss of Latino votes if they don’t vote the union’s way.

Meanwhile, their own union leaders are telling the faithful that amnesty is really a ploy to gain more votes for Democrats and drive the Republican Party to electoral extinction.

New York SEIU leader Hector Figueroa has been one of those leading the charge.

“What we are telling those politicians is they have to look for the good of the country and not the short-term political calculus,” said Héctor Figueroa, a New York activist with the Service Employees International Union, which is pushing for reform. “The reality is 11 million people are here to stay.”

Figueroa said Republicans risk permanently alienating Hispanics if they oppose comprehensive reform. More than two-thirds of Latino voters said they would blame the GOP if immigration reform failed, according to a poll commissioned by the union. That would translate into losing elections, big and small, he argued.

“It’s going to start to have a tsunami effect,” Figueroa said.

In an OpEd for the Long Island Newsday, Figueroa targeted Republican Rep. Peter King, possible 2016 Presidential candidate.

After buttering up King for his efforts over Hurricane Sandy relief, Figueroa urged the Congressman to support immigration amnesty – to enhance his presidential chances.

And the importance of passing commonsense immigration reform is not just political spin coming from Democrats and reform supporters. As Republican strategist Karl Rove put it in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece last month, “Immigration reform is now a gateway issue: Many Hispanics won’t be open to Republicans until it is resolved.”

About 20 percent of residents in King’s congressional district are Latino, for a total of about 144,000, according to census figures. That’s up dramatically from the roughly 45,000 Latinos in the previous configuration of his district, drawn after the 2000 census.

Long Island residents as a whole are also looking for immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship. A June poll by Harstad Strategic Research showed 80 percent of Long Island voters somewhat or strongly support the Senate’s version of the immigration bill.

Our union’s support for this bill is not only a moral commitment, as we watch families torn apart every day by deportations, but a practical one as well. Contrary to misinformation that immigration restrictionists have spread, immigrants actually help the economy grow for everyone. On Long Island, immigrants are 22 percent of small-business owners and hold thousands of essential agricultural jobs that, without reform, could go unfilled. And nationally, a recent Congressional Budget Office report outlined the potential positive economic impact of the reform bill passed in the Senate, showing a reduction in the federal deficit by $197 billion over the next 10 years.

Many of us recently have been heartened by King’s willingness to listen to the voices of long-time and new residents in his district. This included his statement at a recent forum organized by the NAACP and the Long Island Civic Engagement Table that, under certain conditions, he would support comprehensive reform with a path to citizenship. We hope that he continues to hear our voices and uses his senior position in the House to pass an immigration bill that includes an achievable path to citizenship.

King may find that continuing this openness will not only benefit the lives of immigrants and U.S. citizens, but may also open more doors nationally for him.

Now, Hector Figueroa, like most of SEIU’s leadership is a Marxist. Besides being involved in the hard left New York Immigration Coalition, he is active in the Marxist-controlled Brecht Forum and New Labor Forum.

He was a speaker at Democratic Socialists of America ‘s 1997 Socialist Scholars Conference and in 1998, sponsored “Communist Manifestivity to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Communist Manifesto” at Cooper Union’s Great Hall, New York.

So, why would a Marxist want to help the GOP? Short answer – he doesn’t.

He wants to scam gullible GOP Reps into voting for amnesty knowing full well that it will destroy their party.

This was made very plain by SEIU Executive VP, Eliseo Medina, in a speech to the “progressive” faithful at the America’s Future Now! conference in Washington, D.C. on June 2, 2009. Medina is both a Marxist (Democratic Socialists of America honorary chair) and the country’s most influential amnesty activist.

Addressing attendees on the necessity of comprehensive immigration reform and speaking of Latino voters, Medina said: “when they voted in November, they voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates. Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up.”

So I think there’s two things that matter for the progressive community.

Number one, if we are to expand this electorate to win, the progressive community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants, that we’ll expand and solidify the progressive coalition for the future…”

When you are in the middle of a fight for your life you will remember who was there with you. And immigrants count on progressives to be able to do that.

Number two.

“We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters”. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three?

If we have eight million new voters who care about …… and will be voting. We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle…

Here’s the video of Medina’s speech.

“Governing coalition for the long term?” That means effectively a Democratic One-Party state – forever.
Medina knows this. Figueroa knows this. The U.S. left knows this, but some stupid Republicans clearly do not.

When a Marxist like Hector Figueroa gives you advice – do the exact opposite.

Conservatives have been winning this war so far. Amnesty would be a done deal already if it wasn’t for the Tea Party and allied conservatives. Wavering GOP Reps are rightly terrified of Tea Party inspired primary challenges. They’ve seen how Marco Rubio has effectively blown his Presidential ambitions by foolishly supporting some form of amnesty.

The left is getting desperate when they have to reach out to the GOP. They can see this prize slipping out of their grasp. They are very, very worried.

Now is the time for patriots to amp up the pressure. The message must be sent to every GOP Rep who might be wavering, that a serious primary challenge awaits anyone who betrays their country over the amnesty issue.

Who will they represent? The SEIU Marxists, or their own patriotic constituents? That will come down to who can apply the most pressure.

    3.4 Free Trade and Migration

We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a credible threat to security, health or property.
