Anti-Americanism: The Official Policy of the NFL

By: Thomas Wigand | New Zeal

For months now we’ve endured the spectacle of NFL players taking a knee (or hiding in the locker room) during the national anthem. Receiving blowback, some tried to claim that they weren’t intending to insult our country, but to raise consciousness about the plight of Blacks in the United States of America. BULLONEY.

It’s called the national anthem for a reason – it is symbolic of, and is representative of, the totality of our country and, by that very nature and the ceremonial reverence attendant to it, is intended to honor our country. The players’ actions were intended to, did, and continue to dishonor our country (most egregiously at the hands of those who did so on foreign soil). In particular, they’re (proverbially) not just kneeling on, but pissing on the graves of those who have fallen in defending our great nation (more on this later).

Disrespecting our national anthem on foreign soil – the despicable Jacksonville Jaguars.

They’ve thought that they were making a statement promoting “social justice” (or whatever). The reality is that those players are unwitting pawns that have paraded onto the field of Progressive Stadium, merely another team playing in the League of Useful Idiots – we’ll refer to their “team” as the Knee-Takers. They now play alongside more-established teams like the Antifa’s; the BLM’s (Black Lives Matter); the Pusseful Idiots (Women’s Marchers adorned in their “pussyhat” helmets); the Social Justice Warriors and the Occupiers. Those teams compete for the virtue-signaling Social Justice Bowl, hoping to win the Social Justice Trophy and each get Social Justice rings. They know, they just know, that “social justice” is the ultimate goal that will bring near utopia to “our global community.” And while that may be their heartfelt goal, it is not the ultimate goal. But they play on in their self-satisfied obliviousness.

Meanwhile, some of the coaches – and all of those who actually control the League of Useful Idiots, watching from skyboxes above – are content in the knowledge that, unbeknownst to the players, the action on the field is actually a sideshow, albeit one that is helping the controllers to garner a much bigger prize. Space here does not permit an explanation of how useful idiots who believe that they are fighting exploitation are actually being exploited themselves, but this writer has discussed that in more detail here and, more applicably to the NFL players, here.

In this drama of NFL anti-Americanism, there are three primary factions: the players (and their union); the NFL / owners; and the fans. We will deal with them in that order.

THE PLAYERS

Gee, nice League you’ve got here. It would be a shame if something happened to it.”

Recent reports indicate that the NFL owners have acquiesced to a Progressive shakedown – to the tune of a $89-100 million dollar slush fund – that will (in part) be pulled from other NFL supported causes, including veterans – dedicated to funding various left-wing groups. In this the players and their union appear to have channeled not just Jesse Jackson, but Barack Obama – Eric Holder – Loretta Lynch, and Elizabeth Warren’s creation the CFPB. In fact, shaking down private enterprises and using the proceeds to fund left-wing groups has become a standard practice of the Progressives (no doubt prompting Marxists everywhere to smile). Enough so that one can fairly speculate that the knee-taking was a setup from the beginning. Even if not, it is clear that at some point the Progressive leadership – the puppet-masters that direct the useful idiots – got involved and inserted the shakedown element into the mix as the “resolution.” In either case, might not a RICO conspiracy prosecution be in order?

Let’s take a quick review of the Progressive shakedown modus operandi. It has been long-reported that Jesse Jackson shook-down private businesses by threatening bad publicity if they didn’t cough up the do re mi for his “Rainbow-Push” coalition. The Obama administration acted post-bad publicity, shaking-down private entities after the bad-publicity fact – e.g., financial institutions after the “subprime crisis” – and used the “settlements” to fund a bunch of far-Left (Progressive) organizations (rather than sending the money to government coffers where it should have gone, and so effected de facto off-the-books taxpayer financing of those left-wing entities). Just recently disclosures have emerged that the Pocahontas-created CFPB has been doing the same thing on a massive scale (instead of “Consumer Finance Protection Bureau” it should be called the “Collectivist Funding Promotion Bureau”).

Well here it appears that the players / players union have taken this Progressive shakedown model to a whole new level – this in that they first created the bad publicity, and then shook-down the NFL to fund far-Left (Progressive) organizations. To the tune of $89-100 million!

THE NFL / OWNERS

The reports indicate that while not requiring (as part of the “settlement” deal) that the anti-American knee-taking demonstrations stop, the NFL is hoping that by coughing-up the do re mi the players will stop. (We should consider the likelihood that there actually is such a “stop demonstrating” deal, but that they don’t want to admit that publicly as it would make inarguable that a protection-racket like shakedown has occurred.)

This is not to say that the owners are totally innocent victims in the traditional sense; they are more like dupes who allowed their focus on dollars and the bottom-line steer their decision-making (which is probably something the Leftist engineers likely behind the useful idiot players anticipated and counted-upon). Like many corporate interests these days, they’ve been conditioned to believe (not without justification) that the path of least resistance is to appease Progressive pressure-groups and snub Conservatives and Conservative values, rather than stand-up for what is right and decent. That, and a mercenary focus on the dollars at the expense of loyalty to our country – the Black players are an indispensible component of their monetary gravy train, and so they cynically calculated that appeasing them would keep more dollars flowing than would whatever loss might occur by dissing our country.

Hence the selective enforcement of the NFL’s rules. Players have been prohibited from wearing articles that honored 9/11 victims, or from honoring the slain Dallas police officers. Yet the Knee-Takers have not been prohibited for their defiance, they now via the “settlement” are being monetarily rewarded for it. As a mental exercise, consider what the League would have done to players who stood on the sidelines with, say, “It’s OK to be White” placards (that are starting to appear on college campuses), or who displayed Christian crosses or turned their backs during some “Pride” event? Fines, suspensions if not permanent expulsion would have been the League’s response. It would be one thing if the League enforces rules uniformly, but its selective enforcement on behalf of the Knee-Takers means as well that the owners / NFL have embraced a particular position – condoning and embracing anti-Americanism, via demonstrations during our national anthem.

Crisis-management communications experts, at the behest of the NFL, have approached the imbroglio as a matter of spin and how to make it effective; thus we have been treated to an orgy of spin-doctored weasel words. It occurs not to them that this is about America. The anthem stands for all of America, and all that is American. To disrespect the anthem is, likewise, to disrespect all of America, and all that is American.

The NFL and players alike are trying to have it both ways. Owners trying to say they think that everyone should stand, but respect the message of the Knee-Takers. Players trying to say that they’re not dishonoring the country or the military. Some from both of those sides have even tried to deceive by invoking First Amendment rights, even though those don’t apply to a private entity like the NFL. Both are calculating that the fans will eventually come back, that the lure of playoffs and the SuperBowl will trump patriotism. So the players (and their Progressive puppet-masters) and the NFL are scheming that they can have their cake and eat it too.

THE FANS

Ultimately the fans have the power, for ultimately it is fan money that enables the very existence the NFL and the players.

Unless and until the NFL and the players union repent – truly repent – by unequivocally apologizing for what has already occurred, and promising never to tolerate such anti-Americanism again, every American should “take a knee” about ever attending or viewing NFL games. Including playoffs and the SuperBowl.

To date many fans have done the right and proper thing, and abstained from supporting the anti-Americanism of the NFL. But not enough have. And will those that have stood up for our country remain stalwart through the playoffs and the SuperBowl … and, if necessary, into seasons to come???

Thus we get to the main purpose of this post: an effort to steel the resolve of the fans who have been doing the right thing – abstaining from anti-Americanism – and even more so, to persuade others to begin doing the right thing. For this, let us all engage in a mental exercise.

Arlington National Cemetery – unlike AstroTurf football fields, this is genuine sacred ground.

Imagine, if you will, that you are standing in middle of Arlington National Cemetery, and before you appear the immortal souls of those who lay there – those who in mortal life were White, Black and Hispanic – and having to explain to them why watching football is more important to you than is honoring their ultimate sacrifice.

Face those souls that fought for this divinely-inspired country – often making the ultimate sacrifice, and so for whom the idea of a future that included watching football was rendered moot. Imagine their asking you, as they’ve witnessed from heaven the NFL’s proverbially pissing on their sacred graves, to explain yourself and to justify your continued NFL patronage.  Asking you why their sacrifice is rendered relatively trivial in your eyes, with NFL football taking precedence. Then imagine those souls, later standing behind St. Peter, observing as you explain your actions to him on your inevitable day of judgment.

Or how about having to explain yourself, of having to attempting to justify yourself, to those still living? Let us take a small journey within those conflict still within living memory:

WWII

Taking a knee with honor. Tell them why watching football is more important than honoring their sacrifice.

Face his eternal soul and justify how watching the NFL is more important than honoring his memory. We can’t wait to hear what you come up with.

KOREA

NO KNEE-TAKERS HERE – JUST REAL HEROES

Quite a bit more serious than “time out while an injured player is removed from the field,” don’t you think?

VIETNAM

These Black Lives Matter too. So does honoring THEIR sacrifice.

“It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget: that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots, we all enjoy the same glorious freedoms, and we all salute the same great American Flag.” – President Donald J. Trump, Inauguration Address

GULF WAR

It’s safe to say that he’s not weeping because some NFL team missed a punt in the final seconds of a game.

AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ

Pat Tillman. A genuine hero, for the NFL but, more importantly, for the United States of America. One suspects that, looking down from heaven, his soul has a few choice things to say both to the Knee-Takers and the NFL’s remaining fans.

A few choice words likely would be forthcoming from these two as well – they earned the right.

Yes, see if you can come up with a good excuse for these soldiers why your precious NFL is more important than honoring their sacrifice, is more important than honoring the divinely-inspired country that they’ve defended for centuries now. Good luck – because there can be no good excuse.

You may have noticed that this concluding sequence of images shows patriotic Americans on bended-knee. This is intentional, for “taking a knee” to honor what is right, just or holy is appropriate and commendable.  But to take a knee in honor of the opposite – as is being done by the Knee-Takers of the NFL and their enablers in the league’s leadership – is despicable.

Not readily discernible in the final image, however, is that the two soldiers honoring their fallen comrade are White and Black.  For you see, the United States of America is the multi-cultural ideal, founded upon the principle that “all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator” – that our race is incidental, for ultimately we are all children of God.  Has our country in its history not perfectly adhered to that principle?  Yes.  But our history shows that with each passing decade we embrace it ever more closely, and today are closer to it than ever.  That is to be celebrated.

So too are those who have made it all possible, those who have worn the uniform of our country, and often made the ultimate sacrifice.  More than for the rest of us, our national anthem honors them.

So tell us, does your “sacred” football still seem so important to you?  Will you stand for our country and for our national anthem that represents it, including by standing-away from the NFL?  Or will you continue to support the NFL’s anti-Americanism?

The souls of our departed warriors await your response.
