Regressive Liberal Nazis and Cognitive Dissonance

Graphic in circulation that will strike most leftists as very insulting and absurd

“If you live today, you breath in nihilism … it’s the gas you breathe. If I hadn’t had the Church to fight it with or to tell me the necessity of fighting it, I would be the stinkingest logical positivist you ever saw right now.” (Link)Flannery O’Connor (1925-1964)

Cognitive dissonance is a term that refers to the uncomfortable feeling that comes from holding two or more conflicting viewpoints.

In the process of my ongoing search to discover why liberals are so remarkably, (one could even say ostentatiously), off the beam,  I’ve come to understand that cognitive dissonance plays a large role.  (Link) and (Link)

Perhaps no other truth rattles the liberal brain as much as the recognition that Fascists, and Nazis in particular, are a Far Left phenomena.

I’m reminded of a skit by the English comedy team, Mitchell & Webb.  In the skit they portray two Nazi officers, one of whom suddenly notices that they all have a skull-and-crossbones on their caps.  “Does that make us the baddies?” he asks.

One may feel a certain compassion for the many liberals who must be feeling varying degrees of cognitive dissonance these days (“We’re the Nazis?  Doh!”).

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, so to speak, it’s only a matter of time before liberals start rewriting, revising, and otherwise changing, history, in order to paint Hitler as not only misunderstood, but unfairly demonized, as well.  There have already been moves made in that direction.    (Link)

The Liberals will, by and by, no doubt make a semi-saintly icon out of poor ol’ Adolph, and will soon be singing “Deutschland Über Alles,” instead of “Kumbaya,” around the campfire.

Unfortunately for the liberals, this means that they will have give up one of their favorite epithets to hurl at conservatives—“Nazi.”  They can’t continue using the word “Nazi” in a derogatory sense, when it undeniably refers to themselves.  (Link)

Well, actually they can, and will, regardless of the absurdity of such verbal attacks.  Old habits die hard.  (Link)

Anarcho-Syndicalist Star

The number of contradictory ideas held by liberals is large, and I will only be covering a small sampling in this article—hopefully enough to get my point across.  (Link)

The regressive Progressives, claim to be revolutionaries, when in fact they are nothing but retrograde forces bent on instituting a return of “we the people”  to a servile state of economic slavery.  (Link)

When you clear away the smoke and mirrors, and duplicitous cant, the reactionary Regressives (a tip of the hat to Mark Levin), wish to ensconce a Global Elite in positions of feudal-like power over “the great unwashed” (i.e. us).      (Link)

The Regressives, NWO Power Elites, and elements of Islam, have been, and are, actively working toward such a goal.  Although it’s a conspiracy, it darn sure isn’t any theory, as a day’s worth of research on the Internet, will amply confirm.  (Link)

The liberal devotion to one-world globalization, means that they are ipso facto traitors to America, deny it as they may.  This is yet another cause for cognitive dissonance.  (Link)

In addition, liberals claim that they want to give “power to the people?”  Hah!  They have been slowly, but surely, destroying the first nation in world history, to truly give power to “we the people”—the United States of America.  (Link)

Also, they are forever telling each other, and anyone else who will listen, that they are “the good ones.”  No, they are not, the good ones.  They are the vain, sneaky, egotistical, greedy, vociferous, violent, crazy ones. (Link)

They claim that putting a statuette of a crucified Jesus, in a jar of human urine, is “artistic,” and a brave expression of free speech, yet they cut and run like spineless weasels when Muslims go ballistic over some cartoons. (Link) and (Link)

Yale University Press went so far as to publish a book on the Danish “Jyllands-Posten” cartoons that offended Muslims in 2005—without showing any of the cartoons!  Sort of like publishing a cookbook without any recipes. (Link)

Yale’s explanation no doubt went along these lines: “We are afraid, we mean reluctant, to offend our Islamic friends.  We have come to value their donations, we mean friendship, and besides they might kill us, we mean feel insulted.”  (Link)

What’s more, liberals consider themselves to be so hip and cool—just ask them.  If being traitorous, cowardly, duplicitous, morally stunted, ethically challenged, and self-absorbed is cool, then, yes by God, liberals are no doubt the coolest thing around. (Link)

All too many of them are social parasites—living off of taxpayer money, and foundation grants.  The more audacious and wealthy of them, travel in limos and private jets (often at taxpayer expense), to lecture us about how we shouldn’t travel in big cars and jets.  (Link)

No doubt such people don’t suffer from cognitive dissonance, as they know full well they’re full of it, and they are comfortable in their lies.  The “useful idiot” liberals who follow their cues, are another matter altogether, and are the ones that this article is referring to.  (Link)

Last but not least, liberals are absolutely convinced of how intelligent they are.  Just ask them—actually there’s no need, as they’ll inform you, unasked.  (Link)

I’m no dummy, and I’ve been around the block a time or two, and I’m here to tell you that brains and knowledge do not automatically result in wisdom. Sometimes a high I.Q. simply results in an increased ability to screw up, in more ways, more often, and more cleverly, than would have been the case otherwise.  (Link)

It’s no secret that a person can be quite bright, quite educated, and quite wrong.  Moreover, they can be greedy, and corrupt, and/or twisting facts to fit an ideological agenda.  (Link)

Yet Regressives archly dismiss the conservative approach, that experience is always a better guide to life, than theories and “notions.” (Link)

So how do liberals deal with their cognitive dissonance, which they must be aware of, if only on an unconscious level ?  Quite simply, they deny it all.  (Link)

As Steven Hayward notes in his book “Greatness:”

“If the distinction between liberty and tyranny is real and substantial, it follows that compromise with tyrannical evil is not possible.  Almost everyone agrees, which is why the desire for accommodation must begin by denying or obfuscating evil and tyranny.” (Link)

It is, I believe, the cognitive dissonance brought on by “denying or obfuscating evil and tyranny,” that is the root cause of the pathological nature of the liberal mind-set.  (Link)

Also, having an ultimate “fallback position” of amoral, atheistic nihilism, doesn’t help matters. (Link)
