Protest

Over 40 groups are preparing to protest the Republican Nation Convention in Cleveland next month. It should be no surprise that radical communists are leading the way. The massive move on Cleveland is being promoted by the leftist website Fight Back! News.

It is being labeled as the “Coalition to Stop Trump and March on the RNC” rally and is scheduled for July 18th which is the first day of the convention. The protest will put forward the slogans, “Dump Trump, Say No to the Republican Agenda. Stand against Racist, Anti-immigrant and Anti-Muslim Attacks. We demand Peace, Justice and Equality.”

“We’re hoping for a march that draws thousands,” states Coalition spokesperson Mick Kelly. “There is a growing tide of anger in the country, directed against Trump and the reactionary, anti-people agenda of the Republican Party. We intend to fill the streets with people who reject their racist, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim attacks.” Tom Burke, also of the Coalition, states, “We are hearing from unions, anti-war, student, immigrant rights, and other groups that are mobilizing for the July 18 march. We have every reason to expect a large turnout.”

The Coalition to March on the RNC and Dump Trump, Stand Together Against Trump and the People’s Fightback Center/March Against Racism are gathering protesters by the thousands to descend on Cleveland. Some estimates go as high as 40,000 protesters. I kind of doubt that number, but who knows at this point. Other groups joining the party include AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the Workers World Party, Black Lives Matter, Organize Ohio, Global Zero, Resist the 2016 Cleveland RNC, Citizens for Trump/Our Votes Matter March and Trump March RNC.

Reliable reports are coming in that somewhere between 6,000 and 8,000 radicals will show up in the streets and that doesn’t count the pro-Trump groups that will flock in to counter protest. The Coalition to Stop Trump and March on the RNC is planning a rally at Cleveland Public Square, followed by a march down Ontario Street to the Quicken Loans Arena – the site of the RNC.

Leading the violence and chaos will be the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO). FRSO is a Marxist-Leninist group that openly advocates for minorities to secede from the union and form their own racial nation states. One of the common protests out there by these radicals is “Make America Mexico Again.” They are closely affiliated with Black Lives Matter and have major connections in San Francisco.

Students and Graduate Activists at the University of Illinois, Chicago (SAGA) will also be attending the protests. They were instrumental in shutting down Donald Trump’s rally in Chicago.

Kait McIntyre bragged on FightBack.org:

Kait McIntyre, another member of SAGA, says, “shutting down Trump at UIC was historic and a beautiful illustration of what people are able to accomplish when they unite and work together. The action inspired similar demonstrations around the country, capturing interest and giving hope to all those fighting for justice across the world. I believe the march on the RNC will show us the same thing.”

She is a member of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, who has hosted anti-Israel events for the group in Chicago.

Per Breitbart, the following is a partial list of attendees. A number of these groups have also been part of rallies to support convicted terrorist murderer and illegal alien, Rasmea Odeh.

The city of Cleveland originally tried to set up “Free Speech Zones.” They will not be used because they are ineffective, not to mention unconstitutional. A federal judge has just ruled that Cleveland’s security measures are unconstitutional as well. At a Thursday morning hearing, US District Judge James S. Gwin said he would issue a preliminary injunction forcing the city of Cleveland to rewrite its restrictions for a potentially contentious convention expected to draw up to 100,000 politicians, delegates, supporters, protesters and media. It’s going to be a madhouse and probably very, very dangerous for all involved.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio had sued the city of Cleveland in a lawsuit that also included a liberal group, Organize Ohio, and a conservative group, Citizens for Trump, that had hoped to hold parades near the convention events in the heart of the city. The city’s regulations restricted parades to 18 separate 50-minute time slots on a single route near the convention. The city had also banned all sound amplifiers larger than bullhorns and all speaking platforms within a security zone that stretches more than three square miles within the city. City officials argued that such items could be used to hide bombs.

The security zone is a less-restrictive area than the smaller US Secret Service-protected “hard” security zone that will be immediately drawn around convention events and media filing areas. The ACLU did not contest the restrictions on the “hard” security zone in its lawsuit and the zone does not seem to be affected by Gwin’s order. I will add here that I don’t believe any amount of so-called security will stop the violence. I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it.

Meanwhile, the National Lawyers Guild is prepping for the FBI and instructing protesters on how to handle and respond to them. The National Lawyers Guild is based in New York, NY and was organized with the assistance of the Communist International in 1936 as a legal action front operated by the Communist Party USA. It is the largest US affiliate of the Soviet-controlled International Association of Democratic Lawyers. The FBI is currently knocking on certain doors to reach out to community members before the convention and to assess risk surrounding the event.

Maggie Rice, 28, an organizer with Food Not Bombs, a volunteer group that provides food at demonstrations and to the homeless, said an FBI agent and a Cleveland police officer in plainclothes had contacted two of the group’s members last week. The FBI is putting radicals on notice that they are there and watching.

The protesters expected in Cleveland include groups of all ideological stripes — many openly antagonistic to one another. Anti-war demonstrators, progressives opposed to Trump’s agenda, groups rallying for economic or social justice, bikers and truckers showing support for the presumptive GOP nominee and the controversial Westboro Baptist Church, which protests the country’s tolerance of gay and lesbian relationships, have all applied for demonstration permits or vowed to show up in Cleveland for the convention, which will run July 18th to the 21st.

This convention will be the most contentious and volatile since 1968. It has the potential for massive violence from communists and radicals that will be there to confront the RNC and their supporters. As far as reality TV goes, this one should be a ratings smasher. Cleveland is getting ready to rumble.

  1. At least everyone will have front row seats to the beginnings of the next civil war. Picnicing at Manassas/Bull Run (which actually happened) will unfortunately be a mere walk in the park compared to what is around the corner.
