Obama Gets on Elevator – Woman Clutches Purse

And there are very few African-American men who haven’t had the experience
of walking across the street and hearing the locks click on the doors of cars.
That happens to me — at least before I was a senator.

There are very few African-Americans who haven’t had the experience of getting
on an elevator and a woman clutching her purse nervously and holding her breath.
Of course that happened when I became president, come to think.

  1. Just to broaden the horizons of our Fearless Leader,I am a middle-aged Anglo-Irish 6’6″ blond man and I promise you I’ve had just as many women shy away in elevators and when walking by curbside on a city street heard thatthump of the electric doorlocks as he ever has. It has been that way since about 1964. What else happened around that time? He is a little young and apparently uninformed to think in any other terms than race. EP

Thank you for your comment, epenry.

On July 4th or 5th or so, I thought of going to the nearby State Park. Then I thought of what happens when a single man, alone, walks around in a park.

Frankly, one of the pleasures of such a stroll would be to see the children, maybe talk a little to them, maybe throw a few whiffle-ball pitches, or frisbees. But then I though of the reactions of just being in a park and happening to walk near a child.

Oh well, so much for that.

  2. I would suggest that Mr. Obama go to youtube and look at several of the thousands of videos that show white folks being attacked by blacks for no reason. He then should try and find one of white people doing the same thing. Then, using the power of logic, deduce the reason you hear the doors lock and realize, it is the black community, not the white community, that has the power to change this perspective.
