Mitt Romney & the Clinton Global Initiative; Why is He Trying to Lose?

Billionaire hedge fund operator George Soros said that, if Mitt Romney wins the presidency, there will be “little difference” between him and Barack Obama in the White House. As if to prove the point, Romney on Tuesday will speak to the Clinton Global Initiative sponsored by the disgraced and impeached former president.

You may recall that Clinton is married to Obama’s Secretary of State and that he nominated Obama for a second term at the Democratic Party convention.

Check the list of speakers yourself. It is no surprise that Obama is going to speak there. But Romney? What is he thinking?

One left-wing site has run an article, “Does Mitt Romney Even Want to be President?” Even left-wing “progressives” don’t think he is serious about capturing the presidency. The argument is that Romney is content to capture the GOP presidential nomination and the party apparatus.

Here is the dirty little secret: some conservatives have told me that they think former George W. Bush strategist Karl Rove, known as “Bush’s Brain,” wants Romney to lose so that former Florida Governor Jeb Bush can run for president in 2016 against Hillary. The belief, supported by the available evidence, is that Rove is in hock to the Bush family and promotes their interests. He runs a Super PAC in 2012 that pull in millions of dollars on pitiful advertising on behalf of Romney.A Fox News contributor, Rove is also one of the strategists behind the effort to sabotage conservative Todd Akin’s campaign for the Senate seat from Missouri. He has said that Romney can take conservatives for granted and needs to appeal to Obama voters in 2012. This helps explain Romney’s kissing of Bill Clinton’s ring on Tuesday.

The only question is whether Romney is smart enough to understand what Rove and other consultants are doing to him. It doesn’t look good.

In the Akin case, as I have reported, the campaign against Akin was started by a Soros-funded group, Media Matters, and then picked up by Rove and the GOP establishment. It seems that the “progressives” and the establishment Republicans want this solid conservative out of the race. Perhaps they want the GOP to go the way of the “Conservative Party” in Britain, which has abandoned traditional values and embraced multi-culturalism.

Conservatives backing Romney who talk about the need to support “the lesser of two evils” have to wake up. Voting against Obama, a Marxist Muslim, is not enough to motivate true conservatives.  Why vote for someone who doesn’t want to win?

Ed Gillespie

Did you know that senior Romney adviser Ed Gillespie, a former chairman of the Republican Party, is a partner in a lobbying firm with Democratic Party operative Jack Quinn?  Their firm “Quinn Gillespie & Associates” was founded in 2000 by Democratic White House veteran Jack Quinn and Republican strategist Ed Gillespie. These operatives make tons of money no matter who is in power. They don’t care if Romney wins or loses. Gillespie is a hired gun who will make millions of dollars under Obama or Romney. Why does Romney hire people like this?

In addition to hosting Romney, we also have learned that Clinton is hosting Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood President Muhammad Morsi at his Clinton Global Initiative. The Breitbart site Big Peace reports, “Morsi is a prominent figure in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, the most important of the world’s Islamist organizations and ideological progenitor of al Qaeda and nearly every jihadist terrorist group in the world.”

This is confirmed by Reuters.

In another example of how Republicans are working hand-in-glove with Democrats, look at the Senate vote on Saturday on U.S. foreign aid to Egypt, Libya, and Pakistan. Only ten Republicans voted for Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul’s bill to cut off aid to these regimes. The ten were Crapo (R-ID), DeMint (R-SC), Grassley (R-IA), Lee (R-UT), Moran (R-KS), Paul (R-KY), Risch (R-ID), Roberts (R-KS), Shelby (R-AL), and Toomey (R-PA).

Most Senate Republicans voted with Democrats FOR spending money we don’t have that is borrowed from China. We are faced with bipartisan corruption.

Watch Sen. Paul’s speech here. [Gulag Bound: also shown below.]

The Clinton Global Initiative was always designed to save the reputation of the former president, who engaged in sexual relations with a former White House intern, was a serial sexual harasser of women, was accused of rape, and lied under oath. He also supported the Muslim takeover of Kosovo in an illegal and unconsitutional war.

The Clinton Global Initiative is designed to make Clinton look like a humanitarian. By extension, because of Clinton’s endorsement of Obama for a second term, Obama also looks “good.” By appearing at this event, Romney is going along with the entire façade, which benefits Obama and the Clintons. Is he insane?

It looks to me like Romney is throwing the election so that Hillary can run in 2016. Hillary will become the first woman president, following Obama, the first black president, and Jeb Bush will run as a Republican anxious to move the GOP further to the left to compete with the Democrats.  Conservatives will be left high and dry.

Can we not see the handwriting on the wall?

Those who doubt this scenario have to come up with another explanation of why Romney is playing into the hands of Clinton and Obama.

Reince Priebus

Meanwhile, Republican chairman Reince Priebus confirmed on Sunday that the party bosses will not back conservative Todd Akin in the Missouri Senate race. “We’re not going to play in Missouri with Todd Akin, I can tell you that,” Priebus said on ABC’s This Week. This stems from some confusing comments Akin made on abortion and rape. He has apologized for those comments and still has a very good shot of winning that race, in a conservative state that is growing more conservative. But without Republican Party money, he may lose.GOP party bosses want to write him off, despite years of a service as a conservative Congressman from Missouri.

On the other hand, Romney was secretly recorded making the bone-headed statement that 47 percent of people are not paying federal taxes and that they want the government to take care of them and they consider themselves victims. This 47 percent includes people on Social Security and Medicare and our veterans who get benefits because they EARNED them.  These people are not freeloaders or moochers. They were insulted by Romney’s comments and have reason to be concerned. He is out of touch with ordinary Americans.

There were no calls from GOP party bosses for Romney to drop out of the race. It is apparently too late for that. They are behind him no matter what he says or does.

Two panelists on Fox News Sunday said they thought Romney speaking to the Clinton meeting was a good idea. They said he might articulate some worthwhile ideas. Perhaps they said this because Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox News, has attended these meetings in the past.

Some say that it appears that Romney is deliberately avoiding running a conservative campaign. The appearance at the Clinton Global Initiative supports this argument. Perhaps this is because, as Rush Limbaugh once said, Romney is not a conservative. He is the father of gay marriage and socialized medicine in Massachusetts. Yet, some conservatives consider him the “lesser of the two evils.”

Romney has no ideological core. He doesn’t understand how to fight a Marxist president. Perhaps he doesn’t care to fight and win.

Romney does not just want to avoid being perceived as a conservative. He is insulting conservatives. Appearing with Bill Clinton at a Bill Clinton forum is an absolute disgrace. Why help rehabilitate the reputation of one of the most morally corrupt presidents in history? Clinton brought discussions of oral sex into America’s homes, increasing the moral toxic waste that eats away at our nation.

The old joke was that the Clinton presidential library was going to be an adult book store. But it’s not a laughing matter to those who take seriously his life as a degenerate and his contribution to the corruption of American culture.

Can you imagine a Republican president  being permitted to rehabilitate his image and reputation in this manner? Of course, Clinton has the media in his corner. Some of those speaking at this year’s Clinton Global Initiative  include:

  • Nicholas D. Kristof, Columnist, The New York Times
  • Piers Morgan, Host, CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight
  • Charlie Rose, Executive Editor and Anchor, “Charlie Rose”
  • Richard Stengel, Managing Editor, Time Magazine
  • Fareed Zakaria, Host, CNN-GPS

Since Romney does not seem to want conservative votes, why should conservatives vote for him? It is as if some conservatives want to throw their votes away, on behalf of a candidate who does not even want to earn conservative support. This is like a battered woman who comes back for another beating.

  1. Occam’s Razor would tent to inform us, the purposes for which Mitt Romney is going to the Clinton Global Initiative conference include that he:

    a. tends to support and identify with what they do and,
    b. he wants more support by (other) globalists, in return.

That is the Poltitics 101 of it.

  2. Soooo…you recommend, highly apparently, that we believe Mr. Soros and that Romney isolate himself from the pack of politicians that, everyone knows, have their manos en la masa at all times, protecting, creating new personal interests at will while lounging in office? Nice fairy tale. The book won’t make the top ten list. :O)

  3. I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir here, but the other guests listed to speak are all on the current roster of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). For those who don’t know CFR’s origins, take the time to look it up. Also on the list (among MANY others) is George Soros, Dick Cheney, Rupert Murdoch, Condoleeza Rice, Bill Clinton, Charles Krauthammer,, etc, etc. Naturally, there’s several generations of Rockefellers on the list, as they appear to be the “Grand Poo-bah’s” of the group. Should it come as any surprise to find Romney in the mix? While he’s not officially on the list, he’s certainly earned himself a place within their cabal. Like every other Republican president since the 50’s, (should he win) Romney will load his cabinet choices with CFR A-listers. You can take that one to the bank – literally.

Here we are – once again – with Loser ‘A’ and Loser ‘B’ on the ballot. May God help us all . . .

  4. This may be a part of the reason for a poor, globalist-RINO Romney campaign. His globalist bankster backers may not want Republicans in charge of the Senate at all.

    • I’m getting the impression that ‘they’ feel that their time is short, and that their window of opportunity will not remain open for long. There are simply too many of us who are waking up and educating both ourselves and others. A website like this one would have been considered well-past the fringe element just a few years ago. Now it’s becoming more credible with each passing day. The truth hurts – no matter who you are. I’m thinking that in the past, they could have used a Romney presidency for one or two terms to move their ball further up the field without raising too much suspicion. Now, it seems they’re going for broke with Barry in office. Frankly, I’m concerned that so much of our military (along with their weapons) are half a world away. Between Afghanistan and now Iran, we’re now more vulnerable here at home. I never would have thought this before, but now that I’m so distrustful of our government (and more knowledgeable of their capabilities), nothing would surprise me.

      Grab your pitchforks . . .

      • @FairWarning, Yet, again, I agree. Yes, the truth not only hurts, it is tragically and horribly terrifying. This entire global game is rigged and we Americans are sitting ducks in the global pond. We have been exploited for a very long time and purposely fed an educational and mass media diet since before I was born. There is ONE positive aspect of this indoctrination however, many of us became addicted to patriotism, nationalism and the very idea of freedom.

      • Michael Shaw’s conversation with Denise and Bobbi on net-radio this past evening underscores the problem.

      • For the sake of my argument, let’s forget about Romney’s candidacy for a second. If any of these polls are remotely correct, over 40% of U.S. voters are willingly going to vote for an openly Marxist president. This alone is extraordinary. Nearly half of our citizens aren’t the least bit fazed by a Marxist in the White House. Not only are most Americans clueless as to whom our country’s ‘real’ enemies are, but most don’t even know that we HAVE any true enemies. Nor do they care. How does one awaken someone who has no interest in waking up? Let’s just say (back to Romney now) that Romney wins the election, and somehow turns out to be a decent president. Yes it’s a stretch, but humor me. We still have one hell of a problem (education, media, pop culture, a gazillion pages of govt regulations, etc) that didn’t get fixed – just prolonged. It’s going to take decades to rebuild what we’ve allowed to erode. And that’s assuming that we’re still around by then. As a whistleblower, I can tell you that as long as most people don’t care about the amount of corruption that’s so pervasive in our society, then we’ve become rotten to the core.
